Crunchy Pants
Laundry. It's something everyone has to do eventually. As a kid I probably took this for granted by changing clothes four times a day unaware how much doing laundry sucks. Sorry Mom and Memaw. Now, having done laundry on my own for quite a while, I have mixed emotions on doing laundry. I used to love it but these days I am just not feeling it. I have an older washer and dryer that came with my house that I have lived in for almost ten years. These appliances are old and don't have some of the fancier features that new ones have. Also, it seems to take my dryer four hours to get my clothes dry sometimes.

STEP GEEK
A few years ago I was contemplating going up a T Shirt size. Most of my shirts that were XXL fit just a little too tight make me feel like a bulging sausage and not in a good way. The thought that went through my head was "Maybe I should go to a XXXL." I knew this way of thinking was wrong and it was over the next couple of years I would lose 90 pounds. I joined a gym, fell in love with the group fitness classes, and more importantly did not need to go up another T Shirt size. In fact, I actually dropped almost two sizes being able to wear some large size T Shirts. Well, flash forward about three years and after having a bit of bad luck while also losing focus I have put about forty of the ninety pounds back on. The fact that I worked at an amusement part for two of those years probably didn't help my weight any.

GEEK IN NYC
New York is one of those cities that I
don't think about as a particular geeky city. That is until I got the
chance to spend a few days there. When I got to thinking about it,
New York City has been in my pop culture world my entire life.
Everything from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Spiderman to
Ghostbusters who all used the city almost as a character instead of a
setting. It's easy to see why creators pick this city as a backdrop
as you walk down its streets. There are all walks of life from
tourists, to residents, to people who are down on their luck.

Alan Young 1919-2016
Forgive me for the lateness of this
post as I was away when the news broke. I did not want to skip this
as 2016 has brought a number of legends that have passed away. This
one affected me more than the rest which may confuse most of you that
know my age. Only being thirty eight years old I completely missed
Mister Ed by over a decade but luckily discovered it later.
